Service Description: Offers children, youth, and their families a place to receive free grief support and to connect with others who have experienced a death in their immediate family

Support groups
  • peer support groups are offered for children and youth ages 3-19 years old, at no cost to families * grief-related themes are explored through talk circles, games, expressive arts activities, and play, led by professional staff and trained volunteers
  • also offers online support groups for those who cannot attend in person or who would prefer to participate from home
Education and Training

Educational presentations and consultations to schools, educational organizations, employers, community agencies, faith communities and other groups on topics that include:
  • understanding the grieving process
  • understanding child and youth grief
  • talking to children about death and dying
  • supporting employees in the workplace
  • supporting grieving students at school
Consultations by phone
Free telephone consultations to anyone wanting to better understand child and teen grief and ways they can support a young grieving family * provides information regarding grief support counselling agencies and recommended grief counsellors and suggested books on grief related topics
