An article in Tonic describes a simple breathing exercise that can help you relax in just a few minutes. You can do it anywhere. “It’s totally private,” says Scott Amyx, a speaker who uses the technique to manage his anxiety. “Nobody knows you’re doing it.”

The technique has proved so valuable that it’s even been used with survivors of genocides, earthquakes, tsunamis, and other global disasters.
