This service provides information and support to children and youth who have witnessed and/or experienced violence Topics may include * definition of violence * family changes * who is responsible for violence? * safety planning * witnessing abuse * healthy relationships * feelings - how to express anger * dating violence * conflict resolution * self esteem Short-term intervention is provided through one-on-one and support groups * referrals are made to other service providers for long-term counselling New referrals will undergo a screening process before entry |
