Service Description: Helps low income residents with their health needs, including dental, vision, medical supplies, equipment and related costs as well as funerals

  • dental care emergency for adults (adults who are in pain or require emergency dental care may be eligible for help with the cost of their dental care)
  • for dental services for youth, aged 17 and under, from low-income households, visit Healthy Smiles Ontario
  • eyeglasses (assistance with the cost of prescription eye glasses may be provided)
  • medical supplies and equipment (diabetic supplies, surgical supplies and dressings, assistive aids and devices, back braces, hospital bed if it is necessary to prevent hospitalization, surgical stockings, artificial limbs, wheelchairs, inhalators)
  • mechanical, ceiling and Hoyer lifts * assessment form an occupational therapist is required * ceiling lift will be considered only for applicants that own their home
  • medication (up to a maximum of $500) for residents without drug coverage through an employer or other source * for ongoing drug coverage, apply to the Trillium Drug Program
