Service Description: Dementia Resources Consulting Services:

Trained professionals (First Link and Outreach Dementia Resource Consultants,  Behavioural Supports counsellors) are available to respond to inquiries from family members or the general public * Outreach Dementia Resource Consultants are specially trained in dealing with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias but are not therapists

Support and advice:
  • one-to-one dementia specific education sessions, which can be in the office, at home or over the telephone
  • e-mail correspondence
  • information and education
  • care strategies and referrals to community services
  • emotional support for individuals and caregivers
Support groups:
  • support people who want to inform themselves with current information that will help improve quality of life with the disease
  • offer a variety of support groups to help the person wherever they may be in the journey (support groups for the person with dementia * care partner support groups * bereavement support groups)
  • services provided at multiple locations throughout Peel
