Service Description:	Nursing station providing basic medical and health care services that promote physical and mental health for community members Coordinates health care services through the Jeannette-Oscar Lydokenne Nursing Station; health team consists of Community Health Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Homecare worker, a Community Health Representative and X-ray Technicians Performs diagnostic imaging (x-rays) Provides physician consultations a few days per month through a visiting Physician Offers lab and pharmacy services Provides health awareness and counseling, education and prevention workshops especially in the areas of diabetes and alcohol/drug abuse Coordinates the services of a visiting dentist and provides a dental assistant and a dental hygienist assistant Coordinates the following programs: Medical Transportation Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) Provides access to specialized medical care using videoconferencing and other tele-diagnostic equipment Allows specialists to remotely examine and prescribe treatments to patients in their home communities Reduces the need to travel to receive care Participates in Thunder Bay's Regional Critical Care Response Program (RCCR) as a pilot site with other First Nation communities which enables patients to now be triaged and cared for by critical care doctors and other highly-skilled staff at Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre's Intensive Care Unit via videoconferencing equipment prior to air transfer via Orng Services and Programs: Medical Transportation Program
