Expectations may need to change
December 10, 2009, 12:17 PM
If you’re caring for someone with
Alzheimer’s Disease
, you may be worried about how your loved one will manage during the holidays. You may also be feeling pressured to continue with past traditions even though they are no longer realistic or in the best interest of your loved one.
The
Alzheimer’s Society of Ontario
and the
Mayo Clinic
offer suggestions on
how to adjust holiday routines
to keep stress and distress to a minimum. You may even want to share one of the articles with family or friends before the 25th so that they too can adjust their plans, and expectations, if necessary
.
