Commit to self-care
November 20, 2009, 12:57 PM
We’re getting to the end of the week – have you taken five minutes for yourself yet? As a caregiver you’re at higher risk of
depression
and burnout and that’s why
self-care
is essential – even if it comes in five minute increments.
Here are a few suggestions: close your eyes and do some
deep breathing
, take two minutes (literally) and do a few
yoga stretches
, put on the kettle and make yourself a cup of tea or reach for a nice tall glass of
water
. Find what works for you and commit to taking a break – you’re worth it!
