Keep your wits this heat wave...

fan

HOT, hOT, Hot, hoT. It’s blistering, stifling, not to be toyed with hot today. Here’s what public health officials are recommending to help you get through this heat wave:

  • drink water even if you don’t feel like it
  • avoid drinks with caffeine or alcohol
  • stay indoors as much as you possibly can
  • if you have things to do outside, do them in early morning or evening
  • if you must go outside, use sunscreen and wear a hat

Other items making news today that may be of interest: breathing through your left nostril may help improve your memory, a researcher at Western is looking for 300 seniors who have used GPS or cruise control to take part in a study on what makes for a more senior-friendly car and neck circumference may be a better measurement of body fat than the Body Mass Index.
