One of the definitions of ‘family’ in the Oxford Dictionary of Current English is “group of kindred peoples.” What a lovely way to define family beyond blood considerations. And given the implications of our aging population it’s a description that may be more accurate, more of the time as we learn to care for 'family' in the future.

Jan’s Story is just one example of how people are adapting to form new family units in the face of diseases like early onset Alzheimer’s.
