Alison Bonds Shapiro is a source of inspiration to stroke survivors and their caregivers. When she was in her early fifties she had two debilitating and nearly fatal brain stem strokes. The events left her profoundly disabled and defeated. But in the process of facing her injuries she made a remarkable recovery. In this featured clip, she offers her thoughts on coping strategies for caregivers and stresses the importance of making contact with others who have faced similar circumstances.
