A marble for when you lose yours

Caregivers who attend Hospice of London’s first Caregiver Support Group later this month will leave armed and ready for those days when the going gets tough. Come to think of it, everyone would benefit from having a caregiver survival kit on standby. I don’t want to give it all away, so here are a few of my favourite items:

  • a marble for when you lose yours
  • a toothpick to pick out the good in others, including yourself
  • a tootsie roll to help you let the small stuff roll off your shoulders
  • some gum to remind everyone to stick together

The support group for caregivers of Hospice clients: those who are facing a terminal illness, will be held on a monthly basis and will be peer-led by a Hospice-trained volunteer. If you’re caring for someone who is facing life-limiting illness and you’d like to know more about the services offered by Hospice of London please call Noella Armstrong, Client Service Coordinator at 519-438-2102, ext. 231.

The Caregiver Support Group is in direct response to a needs assessment that Hospice conducted earlier this year. Kudos to caregivers for making their needs known and to Hospice for responding so quickly!

Now don't forget to buy some marbles, play nice and share.
