Life is emotional. Now what?
I came across ThisEmotionalLife, a PBS website, while checking out the winners and the nominees for this year’s Webby Awards – the equivalent of the Oscars for websites and blogs. Although it didn’t win top prize in the Health category, the site employs a fresh approach to the exploration of mental and emotional health issues, and our need for social connectedness. Based on a PBS TV series of the same name, the site probes topics such as loneliness through interviews with experts and the perspectives of highly visible people such as actors and professional athletes. It also offers strategies to help people live fuller, happier lives.  Hopefully, a visit to the site will give you a better understanding of why we sometimes feel the way we do and what we can do as individuals to live a more satisfying life.
