When "thanks" goes missing

It’s a six-letter word that makes the world of difference, but for many reasons thanks isn’t always forthcoming. That can be a bitter pill to swallow when you’re a caregiver.

Unfortunately, focusing on the absence of appreciation often only leads to more hurt. So what to do, what to do? Well, you can start by finding ways to give yourself credit for your contributions, essentially thanking yourself. And when it comes to giving thanks, don’t be stingy. Say thanks whenever you can. There’s a school of thought that you should give to others what you seek yourself and all will fall into place. Here’s an article that’s chock-a-block with suggestions.
